Big band society has several exciting public gigs coming up in the next few months! We’ll be performing in a range of venues with a range of atmospheres so there’s sure to be something for everyone.
The first event is a performance by BUJO at the famous jazz bar The Old Duke on King Street. We’ll be playing from 16:00 till 17:00 on the 16th of February, and entry is free to all. The event page can be found here for more information.
The next event to add to your diary is a small band performance at the Coronation Tap, the next one will be on the 20th of February, but we’ll be there every Wednesday evening for a few weeks.
Next, Hornstars will be performing in the Victoria Rooms. This is definitely not one to miss, the Hornstars annual concert is always an incredible show of musical prowess. The event for this is here.
This year’s Southwest Uni Battle of the Big Bands (which BUJO won in 2018!) is being hosted by us in Bristol on the 16th of March. The performances are all open to the public, with ticket prices to be announced. Keep an eye on the facebook event for more details as they are available.
Lastly, on the 23rd and 24th of March BUJO and Hornstars will be performing as part of the Bristol Jazz and Blues Festival 2019. The facebook events for our performances are here and here, and the festival’s information page is here. There are some other stellar performances happening so we recommend giving the full list of acts a look!
As always the best place to keep up to date with our performances is our facebook page where we post all of our public events.
